Rebelasyon
Client Work
Rebelasyon is Isaiah Matthew Canlas’ thesis production, inspired by Howard Brenton’s Paul. Conceived as an immersive theater experience, it employed various forms of sensory stimulation to heighten the audience’s perception and engagement. The narrative follows the apostle Paul, imprisoned at the end of his life, as he confronts a series of revelations that shake the very foundations of his faith. Isaiah entrusted me with the task of realizing the visual elements of the production, which centered on the themes of sensory experience and the obscuring of truth. In response, I developed visuals that emphasized and isolated sensory organs—such as the eyes, ears, and nose—while deliberately obscuring other parts of the human form. This visual approach aimed to echo the production’s exploration of perception, revelation, and the fragile line between clarity and distortion.
