In 2023, Kudegra ng Dalawang Bakla was staged by Mad Child Productions. Written by Iago Guballa, this production gave a local and queer recontextualization of Edgar Allan Poe’s The Cask of Amontillado–instead of a drunk Fortunato confined to a walled catacomb, you have a drunk Fort imprisoned in a chained cabinet. Said cabinet, and the queer direction the production was taking Poe’s story, became the focal point of the visuals that I created. The chaos and raw violence of the story influenced the distressed and jagged look of the pubmats that I produced: from the main illustration used in the posters to the logo of entire production.
